Summary of Program:

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking to employ a BC/BE Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon in a non accredited fellowship position at Hackensack University Medical Center, Hackensack NJ and JFK University Medical Center in Edison, NJ. Under the direction of Dr. Shahid R. Aziz, Division Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the successful candidate will gain significant training in complex maxillofacial surgery including facial trauma and reconstruction, orthognathic surgery, and facial cleft surgery.

Opportunity Information

● Opportunity to gain significant experience in complex Maxillofacial Surgical procedures :

200+ orthognathic surgery

75+ trauma surgeries

30 + primary cleft lip and palate surgeries

● Participation in 1 - 2 humanitarian cleft mission(s) to Bangladesh during fellowship

● Non CODA accredited fellowship

Responsibilities

● Assist in the operating room, rounds, office hours, and on call responsibilities

● Provide training/educational programs to staff, students, and residents to ensure competencies and best practices

● Anticipated publication of clinical research paper

Qualifications

● Completion of an accredited OMS residency program in the United States of America.

● Board Certified/Board-Eligible in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

● Licensed in New Jersey, DMD/DDS or MD at start of fellowship

● Excellent critical thinking and leadership skills
